Refugee Mental Health
How We Can Support
-
Psychotherapy
Specialized focus on LGBTQ2SI+ refugee mental health. We provide unique queer affirming care from BIPOC and LGBTQ2SI+ identified therapists to support refugees in exploring their unique intersecting identities connected to trauma and forced migration. We work with the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) to provide coverage for mental health care. We have limited interpretation services available.
-
Mental Health Assessments
We provide comprehensive mental health assessments to support with the refugee application process. Registered social workers with MSW designation provide detailed reports reviewed by the Immigration and Refugee Board to understand the claimants unique mental health state as it relates to their experience of forced migration.
-
Systems Navigation
Through our robust networks, we strive to connect newcomers and refugees to available resources and identify unique opportunities to support with settlement in Canada.
